Early Life and Career

Silvia Pinal was born Silvia Pinal Hidalgo on September 12, 1931, in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico. Her parents were Moisés Pinal Rebolledo and María Luisa Hidalgo Aguilar.

Pinal began her career as a child actress, appearing in her first film, "El Rey de Monterrey", at the age of 18.

She went on to star in over 80 films, including "Viridiana" (1961), "Simon of the Desert" (1965), and "Belle de Jour" (1967).

Personal Life

Pinal has been married four times, first to Rafael Banquells from 1947 to 1952, then to Gustavo Alatriste from 1961 to 1967, and to Tulio Hernandez from 1982 to 1995. Her fourth and final marriage was to Enrique Guzmán from 1967 to 1976.

She has four children: Sylvia Pasquel, Viridiana Alatriste, Alejandra Guzmán, and Luis Enrique Guzmán.

Pinal is a breast cancer survivor.

Recognition and Awards

Pinal has received numerous awards for her work, including the Ariel Award for Best Actress in 1961, 1965, and 1967. In 2011, she was awarded the Golden Ariel for Lifetime Achievement.

Pinal has also been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
