The highly respected Chandrakant Pandit, renowned for his exceptional coaching prowess in India's domestic cricket scene, will remain at the helm as head coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders for the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Pandit's appointment was announced by the franchise on Wednesday, following a successful stint under his leadership during the previous season.
Pandit, who assumed the head coaching position at KKR in August 2023, succeeded the former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum. The 60-year-old coach has a remarkable track record in Indian domestic cricket, having guided Mumbai to the Ranji Trophy title in 2006 and 2013. His expertise has also been instrumental in the success of Vidarbha, leading them to their maiden Ranji Trophy triumph in 2018.
