Sammie Szmodics Joins Ipswich Town from Blackburn Rovers
Ipswich Town have completed the signing of attacker Sammie Szmodics from Blackburn Rovers.
The long-running saga of Sammie Szmodics' transfer from Blackburn Rovers to Ipswich Town has finally come to an end.
Szmodics has signed a three-year contract with Ipswich Town, with the fee believed to be in the region of £1.5 million.
The 26-year-old forward scored 14 goals in 46 appearances for Blackburn Rovers last season, helping them to finish 15th in the Championship.
Szmodics is a product of the Colchester United academy and has also played for Plymouth Argyle and Peterborough United.
He is expected to make his Ipswich Town debut in their opening game of the season against Morecambe on Saturday.
Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is delighted to have signed Szmodics.
"Sammie is a player that I have admired for a long time," said McKenna.
"He is a very good finisher and he has a good goalscoring record at this level."

Szmodics is also looking forward to his new challenge at Ipswich Town.
